2016 Election Results (Final, Unofficial from Stephens Co.)

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley wins a third term in office. Tuesday night, Shirley won the Republican primary for Sheriff, defeating challenger Jim Davis by a margin of almost four to one. Shirley received 3,036 votes, or 79.64 percent, to Davis’s 776 votes, or 20.36 percent, according to the unofficial results.

The Post Two seat on the Stephens County Commission appears headed to a run-off. Unofficial results show Debbie Whitlock with 1,857 votes, or 49.53 percent, just under the 50 percent threshold. Kenny Yearwood finished second with 881 votes, or 23.50 percent.

Both incumbents on the Stephens County Board of Education lost on Tuesday, according to unofficial final results. Len Stovall got 1,974 votes to beat Tony Crunkleton, who had, 1,724 votes, for the at-large seat, while Mark Smith’s 2,328 votes bested Jim Ledford’s 1,315 votes for the District 3, Post 2 seat.

Other winners on Tuesday included Don Tabor, George Christian, John Wilkinson, and Doug Collins.
