Alleged ID Theft Leads to Two Arrests

A months-long, multi-agency investigation results in two arrests.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, the investigation began back in April with a report from someone that their identity had been stolen.

Shirley said the victim discovered his identity was stolen when he went to purchase a new vehicle.

“As a result of what the victim was able to tell us, we were able to identify the person who stole his identity for the purpose of purchasing a vehicle in Jackson County,” said Shirley.

Shirley said that authorities have arrested 29-year-old Reveckeyo Anwaan Hill and his wife, 24-year-old Tanisha Hill, both of McDonald Circle in Commerce.

They are charged with one count of Identity Fraud and 14 counts of Forgery.

The sheriff said both of them each obtained a vehicle using the victim’s identity.

According to the sheriff, the victim’s information was stolen when he attempted to purchase a vehicle at a dealership where Reveckeyo Hill had previously worked as a salesman.

Reveckeyo Hill is currently being held in the Jackson County Detention Center awaiting bond at last report, while Tanisha Hill is being held at last report in the Stephens County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
