Alto Man Arrested After Traffic Stop on Drug Charges
An Alto man faces drug charges after an investigation last week in Habersham County.
On Wednesday, a drug investigation involving the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office led to the arrest of 31-year-old Cazzie Allen Stewart of Alto.
Authorities said the arrest came after a traffic stop was conducted by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office on the vehicle driven by Stewart.
According to authorities, deputies observed drugs in the vehicle during the traffic stop and a search of the vehicle was conducted.
Authorities went on to say that during the search of the vehicle, officers recovered about 1 1/2 ounces of crystal methamphetamine and prescription hydrocodone pills.
The street value of the illegal drugs was put at about $2,000 by authorities.
Stewart was arrested charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and a seat belt violation.
Stewart was transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.
