ASI Buys Standard Register Building

A local industry is purchasing an area building and will share it with the industry already there.

This week, ASI announced that it has taken over as the landlord of the 66,000 square-foot building on Industrial Boulevard in Toccoa that currently houses Standard Register.

The transaction took effect back on June 17.

ASI plans to use the building for office space and warehouse space in conjunction with the ongoing expansion underway at the ASI facility in the Meadowbrook Industrial Park.

Meanwhile, Standard Register will remain in part of the building with no changes to its operations, according to officials.

Stephens County Development Authority Chairman Brian Akin said that this is a move that benefits everyone that is involved.

“This real estate transaction is a win-win for both companies,” said Akin. “You have two very fine companies that are working collaboratively to address their individual needs and both are providing job opportunities for our local citizens.”

Meanwhile, ASI Group President Peter Rolla said that ASI is happy to have Standard Register as a tenant, while having a building that provides ASI with additional long-term capacity in Toccoa.

Rolla said the purchase also reinforces ASI’s commitment to the city of Toccoa, Stephens County, and the state of Georgia.

The ASI Group manufactures and distributes washroom accessories, toilet partitions, and lockers all over the world.

ASI employs over 750 people, with the largest group being located in Stephens County.
