Better Business Bureau Advises Parents to choose Summer Camps Carefully

The Better Business Bureau is recommending that parents looking for summer camps for their children choose carefully.

The BBB advises to start looking for prospective camps at bbb.org to look for accredited camps and also see feedback from others about specific camps.

BBB also recommends checking to see if the camp is a member of the American Camp Association and whether or not it meets the 32 mandatory national summer camp standards because according to the ACA, many camps in Georgia are not regulated in specific areas.

Other tips for choosing a summer camp for your child include visiting the camp before deciding, assessing the quality and commitment of the staff, knowing the fees, understanding safety rules and being familiar with the camp philosophy.
