Bladowski Nominated for TCSG Rick Perkins Award

A Toccoa man who works as a culinary arts instructor at North Georgia Technical College is one of four nominated by his peers to compete for an annual award.

Chef Chris Bladowski has been nominated to compete for the Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Education.

The Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction has been an ongoing statewide event since 1991 and is designed to recognize technical college instructors who make significant contributions to technical education through innovation and leadership in their fields.

Chris Bladowski has been at North Georgia Technical College since 2006.

“Chris is dedicated to the students’ education and the students appreciate his knowledge and extensive experience,” said fellow Culinary Arts Instructor Chef Alex Bladowski in his nomination letter. “Chris draws on his international experience with globally recognized chefs to set an example for the myriad of opportunities students in our service area can exploit for further education and career building.”

Three other instructors have also been nominated for the 2013 Rick Perkins Award including Morris Harrison of Cornelia in Marine Engine Technology, Holly Free of Clarkesville in Health Sciences, and Leslie McFarlin of Carnesville in Mathematics.
