Bohannon Named Next Toccoa Finance Director

The city of Toccoa will stay in its own ranks for its next Finance Director.

On Monday, Toccoa City Commissioners voted unanimously to confirm the appointment of the city’s Deputy Finance Director, Becky Bohannon, as the new Finance Director for the city of Toccoa effective November 1.

Bohannon will replace Cathy Loudermilk, who is retiring after spending the last four years as the city’s finance director.

Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse says that Loudermilk has done an excellent job for the city.

“The city of Toccoa and the citizens should be very proud of the work that Cathy Loudermilk has done through some pretty challenging periods,” said Morse. “We will certainly miss her.”

City Commissioners echoed those thoughts about Loudermilk.

“I have been here 16 years,” said Commissioner David Austin to Loudermilk. “You are the best finance director we have ever had and I know Becky will do a fantastic job.”

Meanwhile, Morse said Bohannon is more than ready to take over the top spot in the finance department.

“She has been doing a wonderful job for us,” said Morse of Bohannon. “I am sure she will do a great job as finance director starting November 1.”

Bohannon has an accounting degree from Piedmont College and prior to working for the city of Toccoa, worked for Stephens Federal Bank for more than seven years and also worked for the American Woodmark Corporation prior to that.

She is also a Certified Level I Government Finance Officer in Georgia through the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and is working on Level II Certification.
