Carol Jackson Joins NGTC Staff

A former northeast Georgia political leader is joining the staff at North Georgia Technical College.

Former state senator Carol Jackson joined the North Georgia Technical College team on Wednesday, July 1, as Associate Vice President for Economic Development.

North Georgia Technical College Vice President for Economic Development Dr. Mark Ivester says that Jackson’s experience in owning and operating small businesses will provide the college an opportunity to assist entrepreneurs throughout our service area.

Ivester says this will be a much needed expansion of North Georgia Tech’s existing services due to the many small businesses in northeast Georgia.

The school says Jackson also has a tremendous knowledge of the college’s service area which includes Habersham, Stephens, Franklin, Rabun, Towns, Union, Fannin, and White Counties.

She served most of these same counties as State Senator from 1998 through 2004.

Jackson is a lifelong resident of White County.
