Christian Sworn In; Makes Presentation To Rickman

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal officially swears in George Christian as the new Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney.

That took place last week.

Deal appointed Christian earlier this month to serve out the remainder of Brian Rickman’s term after Rickman was appointed to a new seat on the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Prior to his appointment and swearing in, Christian served as Acting D.A. for the Mountain Judicial Circuit, which covers Stephens, Habersham, and Rabun counties, upon Rickman’s appointment.

Following his swearing in last week, Christian and staff presented Rickman with a gavel and sound block at a presentation in the State Capitol.

The gavel and striker plate was produced by hand by Rabun County woodworker Scot Roberge and was fashioned from a white oak tree that was brought down during the April 27, 2011 Lake Burton tornado.
