Christmas At Goff’s Starts This Weekend

The show will go on at the Goff’s this year, despite the heavy rain in recent weeks.

Every year, Robbie and Donna Goff, co-owners of World of Tires, have turned their farm on Starr’s Bridge Road into a Christmas wonderland that emphasizes the real reason for the season.

And this year it opens once again this Friday night.

But Robbie Goff said the rain over the past weeks gave him some trouble and he thought about not doing the light show this year.

“I almost thought about taking a year off and I was almost tempted to do it this year,” Goff said. “With the 15 days of rain in a row threw me way me way behind, but I probably never would.”

Goff said even if he wanted to quit…people start calling him weeks ahead of time to reserve nights for bonfires and smores.

“This year, weather permitting, we will probably have a lot more bonfires, especially on Friday, Saturday and Wednesday nights too,” he said. “We have a lot of church groups coming. They’re already calling to reserve time because they’re coming and bringing their kids. So we’ll have more bonfires and we’ll have free hot chocolate and stuff to make smores with.”

This is the 16th year the Goff’s have opened their home and three acres of Christmas lights and displays to the public.

Goff says he’s been acquiring new displays all year for his walk-through Christmas light extravaganza and he’s already run out of room to store them.

“We have a lot more inflatables and blow molds, we have more vintage manger scenes and we have about 30 more inflatables. Last year I ran out of space so I bought a 48-foot trailer body, but it’s completely full now,” Goff said.

Again, the Christmas with the Goffs Christmas light display begins this Friday night and will continue every Friday and Saturday night from 6p to 10p through Christmas.

And on December 4th and 5th Santa and Mrs Claus will be on hand to take children’s Christmas orders.

Admission is free.
