Toccoa Falls College officials say that Kiara D’Orazio, a Stephens County student at Toccoa Falls College was in need of a power chair in order to get around on campus because she was no longer going from class to class like in high school, but going from building to building for classes in college.

The school says that the plea went out to Sheriff Randy Shirley on Facebook, so he posted the need.

TFC says at that point, people from all over responded with help and one donor, from Banks County, offered a power chair, which was used for just a short time.

According to the school, Sheriff Shirley and his crew picked up the chair, put a new battery in it, and delivered it to the campus.

School officials call it a great example of cooperation between the college and community.
