Distracted Driver Causes Wreck Leading to Injury

An accident on Saturday left four people injured.

It occurred shortly after noon at the intersection of Georgia 17 and Memorial Drive.

According to the Toccoa Post of the Georgia State Patrol, Marcus Henry Disspain was distracted by electronic communications and failed to yield right of way.

Disspain was life flighted to Northeast GA Medical Center with injuries to the abdomen and pelvis.

The driver of the second car and two passengers also suffered injuries. No details to the extent of the injuries.

Disspain was cited for failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign and warned against distracted driving.
