drugsTwo people face drug charges after an investigation by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said that his office arrested 25-year-old William Thomas Smith of Toccoa and 35-year-old James Eugene Burns of Carnesville last Wednesday, October 21, in the parking lot of a business off of Collins Road.

Shirley said both men were charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Schedule Two Controlled Substance, methadone, with the Intent to Distribute.

Shirley said one of the men has bonded out, while the other was, at last report, still housed at the Detention Center.
