Festival of Trees winner announced

The winner has been announced for this year’s Christmas Fest’s Festival of Trees, with 900 people coming through to vote for the tree of their liking, Shepard Hill Academy has been named the winner.

Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby told WNEG News about the event.

“We had over 900 people come through and vote. The winner of the Festival of Trees was Shepard Hill Academy, there tree was beautiful, they all were,” Crosby said. “It was one of the most attended Christmas Fest that we’ve had. We’re already looking for people interested in doing it again next year.”

The community came together and shared an evening of Christmas joy.

Crosby added that this year’s Christmas Fest was a huge success.

Crosby also reminds the community of “Toccoa on Ice,” the ice skating rink set up in the parking lot along East Tugalo Street in Downtown Toccoa.

The rink is open Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 12 to 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m., through Dec. 31.
