Franklin Co. Commission Tackles Road Issues

Changes have been approved to two roads in Franklin County.
The Franklin County Commission approved motions to change the name of one road and abandon another road at its meeting earlier this month.
The road to be abandoned was a small section of Ariail Road in the area of Cedar Ridge Road.
Franklin County Commission Chairman Thomas Bridges said he wanted to make sure everyone knew which section of Ariail Road was in question.
Bridges said that this is not to be confused with East Ariail Road or West Ariail Road.
He said the county is only abandoning 500 feet plus or minus of Ariail Road.
The commissioners unanimously approved the motion to abandon Ariail Road.
The second road in question was part of Holbrook Road.
Bridges said this part of Holbrook Road is a little section that is in the area of Bold Springs Road.
He said basically, it is an extension of Holbrook Road, but it has been requested that Franklin County take this portion of the road and call it Holbrook Lane. .
The motion to do that also passed unanimously.
