Franklin County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for the public’s help in connection with a body found last month off I-85 and GA Highway 106.

On Wednesday, Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas released more details of their investigation.

According to the Sheriff, the victim is identified as 49-year old David Baldwin of Doraville, Georgia.

Baldwin’s body was found Saturday morning, September 19th off Georgia Highway 106 off the I-85 166 exit.

Thomas said Baldwin was discovered early that Saturday morning by a citizen on a remote back road.

“Baldwin has no known associates in Franklin County, Georgia and it is believed that Baldwin was traveling on I-85 with other persons before his death,” Thomas said.

Thomas said the autopsy revealed Baldwin died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities are now asking for the public’s help in finding the person responsible for Baldwin’s death.

Thomas said anyone who may have been near or at the intersections of McBath Road and Highway 106 and Exit 166 of Interstate 85 between the hours of 3 and 8 a.m. Saturday, September 19th and observed any sort of suspicious vehicle is asked to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
