Full Afternoon Planned for Toccoa City Commission

Toccoa City Commissioners have a busy day planned today.

The city commission meets for a planning session, work session, and regular meeting later today.

First, Toccoa City Commissioners are meeting for a planning session with the city’s Downtown Development Authority at 1:30 p.m.

During the planning session, the DDA and Toccoa City Commissioners are expected to discuss the goals for downtown in 2017. Those include outreach goals, design goals, promotions goals, and economic restructuring goals.

Then at 3:30 p.m., the Toccoa City Commission will meet for a work session to discuss a number of issues.

Issues to be discussed at the 3:30 p.m. work session include discussion of the Lake Harbor Shores water system, discussion of delinquent business license penalty, discussion of telephone utility payment system and customer convenience fees, and discussion of the general election ordinance.

Then at 5 p.m., Toccoa City Commissioners will move into their regularly scheduled business meeting.

During today’s 5 p.m. business meeting, the city commission is expected to consider both the general election ordinance and delinquent business license penalty discussed during the work session.

Other items on the meeting agenda today for the Toccoa City Commission include approving the Fiscal Year 2018 budget calendar and receiving an update from the Stephens County Development Authority.

Today’s Toccoa City Commission planning meeting, work session, and business meeting are all open to the public.
