Ga. DOT Announces Routine Maintenance For Week

The Georgia Department of Transportation is scheduled to continue routine maintenance on a Stephens County state highway this week if weather permits.

According to the DOT, a crew is set to seal cracks in driving surface of State Route 184 this week.

DOT officials said a lane and the shoulder will be closed as the work occurs on State Route 184.

Moving to Franklin County, the DOT said a crew will remove damaged asphalt and lay new asphalt on State Route 51, while damaged sections of asphalt on State Route 106 will also be removed and ditches alongside State Route 106 will be repaired.

A lane closure will be required for that work.

Also in Franklin County, slopes alongside State Route 51 will be mowed, closing the shoulder of that work.

In Banks County, the DOT said a crew will be trimming vegetation in the rights of way alongside State Route 15/U.S. Highway 441, closing the shoulder.

Finally in Habersham County, a crew will mow the rights of way alongside State Route 385.

Work will take place weather permitting today through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The DOT reminded motorists to use caution in all work zones.
