Golf Course Off To Strong Revenue Start

The city of Toccoa is reporting some initial revenue numbers for the newly re-opened Links at Lake Toccoa.

On Monday, Toccoa Finance Director Cathy Loudermilk told city commissioners that the golf course had collected $10,000 in its first week or so.

Loudermilk said that almost 50 percent, or $4,625 of that, is memberships.

Toccoa City Commissioner Jeannette Jamieson said that those numbers back up what she has heard regarding the re-opening of the golf course.

“I think it goes without saying that, based on what you hear in the community, the investment in the golf course has certainly been worth every dime,” said Jamieson. “It has been a while since I have seen people get as excited as I have seen them get over this golf course and we’re not even half finished yet. It’s a great asset.”

The city of Toccoa re-opened the nine-hole golf course, located just off of Black Mountain Road in Toccoa, on September 3.
