Grand Jury Hands Down Indictments

A Stephens County grand jury has indicted a man in connection with thefts from multiple area convenience stores.

On Tuesday, the grand jury handed down a true bill of indictment against Felix Antonia Tirado.

Tirado was indicted on three counts of Burglary in the Second Degree, one count of Theft By Receiving Stolen Property, one count of Possession of Methamphetamine, and one count of Possession of Marijuana, Less than an Ounce.

Toccoa Police arrested Tirado back in February after he allegedly broke into a Currahee Street convenience store and stole lottery tickets.

The indictment alleges that Tirado broke into three Stephens County convenience stores between December 2013 and February of this year.

Tirado is also charged with being in possession of a truck that was stolen out of Hall County and with being in possession of drugs.

At the time of Tirado’s arrest, Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell said the investigation also showed that similar break-ins to the ones at the Stephens County convenience stores took place in Cornelia and Mt. Airy.

In all, the Stephens County grand jury handed down true bills of indictment on 13 people during its session this week.
