Hospital Celebrates New Practice

Stephens County Hospital joins with the community to mark a new primary care facility in Toccoa.

On Wednesday, the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting and open house for the hospital’s primary care facility, which is staffed by Dr. Ginie Chan and nurse practitioner Shannon Chatman.

Hospital Administrator Lynne Anderson said that the hospital is excited to have the facility up and running.

“They are an internal medicine practice,” said Anderson. “Any primary care that patients need, we can provide, physicals, lab work, ongoing primary care. Dr. Chan has been in the community about 14 months. Shannon Chatman, who is a nurse practitioner, joined us several months ago, and they are a great team. They work together. Shannon is qualified to do Department of Transportation physicals. A lot of companies need occupational medicine services. We can provide those out of this office. It really is convenient for the patients.”

Appointments are being accepted now.

The practice is located at 115 Rock Quarry Road, just off of Falls Road near Stephens County Hospital.
