Indian Baseball Falls to Banks Co. in Season Opener

The Stephens County Indians opened the 2016 baseball season with a loss on the road at Banks County, 6 to 5.

The Leopards took an early 1 to 0 lead, but Stephens County tied it up in the top of the third inning on an RBI triple by Konner Quick.

The Indians would take the lead in the top of the 4th inning on a couple of errors by Banks County and a Kole Rogers RBI single.

Banks County would tie it back up in the bottom of the 4th.

The Leopards would take the lead for good, 4 to 3 at the end of the fourth inning and add two more runs in the bottom of the 6th inning.

The Indians tried to comeback in the top of the 7th with 2 more runs, but they could not complete the rally.

Kole Rogers and Chaz Bridges each pitched 3 innings giving up a combined 12 hits.

Stephens County will try to bounce back in their home-opener tonight as they host Franklin County at the Reservation.

Game time will be 5:30 with airtime on AM-630 WNEG at 5:20.
