Indian Boys Sweep Bulldogs in Basketball

Chaz Bridges scored 19 points to lead four Indians in double figures and Stephens County overcame foul trouble and struggles at the foul line to sweep the season series with Hart County, defeating the Bulldogs 81-74 Thursday night in boys’ basketball action at the Currahee Arena in Toccoa.

NuNu Walker added 14 points for Stephens County, DeUndra Singleton had 13, and A.J. Curry scored 12.

Hart County was led by Jalen Brown with 17 points.

The Indian boys are now 7-3 on the year.

In the girls’ game, Hart County led by 25 at the half and beat the Lady Indians, 62-43.

Hart County was led by Maeisha Teasley with 24 points, while Torrion Starks scored 20 points.

Stephens County did have seven three-pointers in the second half.

Tykia Thompson led the Lady Indians with 17 points and Treasure Lone added 13 points.

Both the Indian boys and Lady Indians will compete in the Commerce Christmas Tournament from December 27 through 29.

The next basketball broadcast on WNEG will be on January 3 when Stephens County hosts Rabun County.
