Stephens Co. Indian Baseball Beats East Jackson
Indian pitcher Zach Boyd scattered four hits and pitched a complete six-inning game as the Stephens County Indians baseball team shut-out East Jackson Monday night, 12-0, on the road at East Jackson.
Stephens County third baseman Dawson Sorrells hit a solo home run in the top of the 3rd inning to start the scoring.
The Indians scored another run in the 4th on a double by Bryson Fowler and a sacrifice fly by Dawson Dean.
Stephens County struck for five runs in the 5th inning and another five runs in the 6th inning, including a solo home run by Kooper Briley, his 4th of the season.
Dean was 2 for 4 from the plate with 4 RBI on the night.
East Jackson used six pitchers during the game but could not cool off the Indians’ hot hitting.
Stephens County improves to 7-3 on the season, while East Jackson falls to 2-8.
The Indians are scheduled to play at Franklin County later today; Game time is at 5:30 p.m. with air time on WNEG around 5:20 p.m.
