Indians Defeat Lions in Football Season Opener

 

Stephens County picks up a win in the 2016 high school football season opener.

Friday night in Carnesville, the Indians scored early and often on the way to a 61-20 win over the Franklin County Lions.

The Indians led 54-0 into the second half, before Franklin County got on the board late in the third quarter.

Offensively, the Indians were led by quarterback Jackson Bell.

He ran for one touchdown and threw for nearly 200 yards and 4 touchdowns in the air.

Catching touchdowns for the Indians were A.J. Curry, A.J. Howard, Isaiah Crawford, and Kainan Green.

Meanwhile, getting rushing touchdowns for the Indians besides Bell were Hassan Brown, Chris Craft, Ken Major, and Tracey Lowery.

Next up for the Indians is a trip to Tiger to take on the Rabun County Wildcats this coming Friday night.

Meanwhile, Franklin County is 1-1 and will be on the road on Friday, September 9th at Habersham Central. The Lions are off this Friday.
