Indians Fall to Madison County

Auburn- bound pitcher Dylan Gentry pitched a complete game 4-hit shutout, striking out 13 Indian hitters to lead Madison County to a 6-0 win over Stephens County in Region 8-AAAA baseball Tuesday night in Danielsville.

Gentry also led Madison County at the plate with three hits and two RBI’s. Madison County catcher Golston Gillespie, who is signed to play at Ole Miss, added two hits and two RBI’s for the Red Raiders. Kooper Briley had two hits to lead Stephens County at the plate.

Chaz Bridges got the loss, but pitched four innings allowing just four hits and two earned runs while striking out seven.

With the loss, the Indians fall to 2-5 in Region play and 12-10 overall. Madison County improves to 4-3 in the Region and 9-11 overall.

The two teams are scheduled, weather permitting, to meet again today at the Reservation. Airtime is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. with first pitch at 5:55 on 93.1 FM & AM-630 WNEG.
