Lake Hartwell to host Pre-July 4 Celebration this Weekend

This weekend will mark Lake Hartwell’s Annual Pre-4th Celebration.
Cristine Blomberg of the Hart County Chamber says there will be plenty to do this weekend.
“It’s an annual tradition,” said Blomberg. “There’s several different components that include Dancing on Depot, which is Friday night. The Pre-4th Festival on Saturday, the YMCA Lake Hartwell triathlon and it all ends with the firework show out at the dam on Saturday evening.”
The event offers something for everyone, with Dancing on the Depot being held Friday night, and the Pre-4th festival kicking off Saturday morning.
“The festival starts on Saturday morning at 8:30 and goes until 2 p.m. that day,” said Blomberg. “It features over 100 arts and crafts vendors, there’s entertainment, food vendors, kid’s activities and the annual kid’s patriotic parade.”
The parade will be held at 10 a.m. and things will close out with a large fireworks display Saturday night starting around 9:15.
“The fireworks show is put on by the Chamber of Commerce,” said Blomberg. “You can view it on land down at the Big Oaks Recreation area or you can go by boat and come out to the area around the dam and see it from your personal watercraft.”
The triathlon will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
“The registration is on goraceproductions.com,” said Blomberg. “You can also call the Bell Family YMCA at 706-856-9622.”
WLHR in Hartwell will provide a soundtrack for the fireworks display Saturday night.
