Little League Tourney in Toccoa Heads To Deciding Game

Franklin County and Hart County will play one more time tonight in the District 11 and 12 year old All-Star baseball tournament at the Doyle Street Park in Toccoa to determine a champion.

Trailing 9 to 8, Franklin County scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win 10-9 in extra innings over Hart County.

Franklin scored the winning run on a bases loaded walk.

J.D. Ginn hit two home runs and drove in four runs for Franklin County.

Casey Tallent, Will Dean, and Taylor Green each had home runs for Hart County.

The two teams play tonight at the Doyle Street Park in Toccoa, with the winner tonight taking the district title and moving on to the state tournament.

First pitch from the Doyle Street Park is set for 7 p.m. AM 630 WNEG and will broadcast the game starting at 6:45 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Toccoa 10 and 11 year old baseball All-Stars will start play Saturday in their state tournament in Cartersville.

Toccoa is in a group with Cartersville, Smyrna, and Columbus for the pool play portion of the tournament.

The Toccoa 10 and 11 year old All-Stars will play host Cartersville first on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and then play Smyrna at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

AM 630 WNEG and will broadcast both of those games.
