Little League Tourneys Gearing Up This Weekend

Two more Little League Baseball All-Star tournaments get underway this weekend.

The Doyle Street Park in Toccoa will host the 10 and 11-year-old baseball and 9 and 10-year-old baseball tournaments beginning Saturday.

The first Toccoa team to take to the field this weekend will be the 10 and 11-year-old baseball all-stars, who will play Habersham Saturday morning at 11 a.m.

Toccoa and Habersham are the only two teams in the 10 and 11-year-old tournament, so they will play a best-of-three series to determine the district champion.

Meanwhile, Toccoa’s 9 and 10-year-old All-Stars have a bye in the first day of their All-Star tournament.

Toccoa’s 9-10 baseball All-Stars get underway Monday at 6 p.m.

AM 630 WNEG and will broadcast both Saturday’s 10-11 baseball and Monday’s 9-10 baseball games involving the Toccoa All-Stars.

Airtime Saturday is about 10:45 a.m. and airtime on Monday is about 5:45 p.m.

Toccoa also has All-Star teams in the Senior League baseball, Little League baseball, Little League softball, and 9 and 10-year-old softball tournaments.

Those tournaments get underway next month.

Elsewhere, the Toccoa Rookie League baseball All-Stars lost two games in the Northeast Georgia Sectional All-Star tourney. Toccoa fell to Athens 17-5 and Washington-Wilkes 12-8.
