Little League Update

The Toccoa Junior League Softball All-Stars will play for a Southeast Regional title and a berth in the Junior League Softball World Series tonight.

Tuesday, Toccoa defeated the host team from Cape   Coral, Florida 3-1 in the semifinals to advance to tonight’s championship game.

Madison Massee and Alyssa Shultz combined to throw a one-hitter for Toccoa, while Shultz and Brynn Roberts had two hits a piece to lead Toccoa offensively.

Waiting for Toccoa in the championship is Florida’s state champs from Tampa.

Florida defeated West Virginia in the other semi-final 20-0.

Toccoa and Florida played during pool play, with Florida handing Toccoa its only loss by a score of 8-1 on Sunday in Toccoa’s first game of the tournament.

The winner of tonight’s title game will head to Kirkland, Washington for the Junior League Softball World Series from August 11 through August 17.

Tonight’s Southeast Regional Championship Game between Toccoa and Florida will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Fort Myers, Florida.
