Man Arrested for Stealing Go Cart from Boy Scouts

An Eastanollee man is behind bars charged with the theft of a go cart from a local Boys Scout camp.

It happened last month at the Village Camp off New Hope Road in Stephens County, according to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley.

One of the items taken in the theft was a double-sided go-cart valued at $3,000.

Shirley said last week, investigators got a break in the case from an anonymous tip that helped them find the stolen vehicle.

Shirley said investigators arrested 19-year-old Dalton Dean of Martin.

According to the Sheriff, Dean admitted to the theft of the go-cart.

Shirley said numerous other items were also taken from the Boy Scout camp.

Dean will have a first appearance hearing before Judge Don Tabor today to determine if a bond will be set.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending against other individuals.

The Go-Kart has been returned to the Boy Scouts.
