Martin Provides Update on Local Projects

There is good news regarding industries that have announced their move to Stephens County in recent months.

Stephens County Development Authority Executive Director Tim Martin said that progress is being made by both Nifco KTW and Sark Wire.

“Nifco KTW is about a month ahead of schedule and Sark Wire is going to turn on its machines for the first time this weekend,” said Martin last Friday.

That was Martin speaking last Friday about both projects.

German-based automotive parts supplier NIFCO KTW announced in June that it would locate its U.S. operations in Stephens County, creating 200 jobs over the next five years.

Nifco KTW is scheduled to begin operations in a 130,000 square foot facility in the Hayestone-Brady Business Park next year.

Meanwhile, Turkish-based copper wire manufacturer Sark Wire announced back in May that it would locate in the old Eddy West building in the Meadowbrook Industrial Park.
