Martin Returns From Germany

Stephens County Development Authority Executive Director Tim Martin is back home after a trip to Europe this month.

Martin traveled to Germany, as well as Turkey, during his 10-day trip.

The main part of the trip was a trade mission organized by the European American Investment Council to Germany.

He said they had the chance to visit numerous companies in Germany.

“We went to five German states and visited multiple companies and participated in various workshops and seminars,” said Martin. “We met with people who have knowledge of specific companies doing specific things in the United States, particularly in the southeastern part of the United States. It was very advantageous, very fortunate for us to be included in that high-level of conversation with the right people.”

Martin said that the chance to meet face to face with these companies and individuals cannot be overstated.

Martin also added two extra days to his trip in order to visit Nifco KTW headquarters in Germany and Sark Wire headquarters in Turkey.

These are two European companies that have already expanded into Stephens County.

He said he appreciated the chance to visit those companies in their homes and thank them for the investment in Stephens County.

“It was great to visit with them,” said Martin. “They rolled out the red carpet for us.”

Martin said while it was a good trip, he is glad to be home.
