Mt. Airy Chief Resigns

Mt. Airy Police Chief Corey Allen has resigned.

That is according to reports in The Northeast Georgian.

Allen had already been placed on administrative leave last week, according to reports.

While the Habersham County town searches for a full-time replacement, Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell is serving as Mt. Airy’s interim, part-time chief.

Jarrell had already agreed to fill the post on an interim basis on the understanding that his duties in Toccoa remain his top priority at all times.
