National Forests Ready for Fall Color

The U.S. Forest Service says it is ready for Fall color season.

According to the Forest Service, a drier summer could mean that much of the Appalachian Mountains may have potentially spectacular Fall color.

Forest Service officials said drier soils will likely result in more intense red Fall color and cool morning temperatures this month, along with clear, dry, and cool conditions throughout October may help the color as well.

With Fall color coming, the Forest Service said it will be posting updates weekly online at its special Fall color feature, as well as by following the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests on Facebook, on Twitter, or thorugh a mobile app.
