New Women’s Basketball Coach At TFC

spiresToccoa Falls College has a new head women’s basketball coach.

The school’s Director of Athletics, Mac Ingmire, has announced the hiring of Stuart Spires to the position.

According to a press release from TFC, Spires played basketball at Kings Mountain High School in North Carolina under Coach Larry Sipe, who was a tenured assistant with the University of North Carolina Basketball Program.

Also, TFC said Spires traveled with women’s basketball at Anderson University in South Carolina from 1993 to 1995, along with handling the financial aid aspect of athletic compliance.

TFC said Spires has worked numerous camps throughout the southeast over the past twenty years and excelled in several sports, including playing baseball collegiately at the University of Evansville before playing professionally in the Atlanta Braves organization.

Ingmire said that Toccoa Falls College is excited to have Spires as the new Head Women’s Basketball Coach, adding his leadership experience and motivational approach to coaching will serve our program well.

Meanwhile, Spires said he is extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity and the trust that TFC has instilled in him to lead the program.

Spires also serves as the Director of Student Financial Services at Toccoa Falls College and has worked in higher education for the past 20 years.
