NGTC, GMC Sign Articulation Agreement

Two Georgia schools come to an agreement to help students in certain programs.

North Georgia Technical College and Georgia Military College held an articulation agreement signing ceremony last Thursday at the campus of North Georgia Technical College.

The goal of the articulation agreement is to provide Associate of Applied Science graduates of select North Georgia Technical College programs with an opportunity to continue on with Georgia Military College to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

Under the agreement, any NGTC student graduating with their AAS degree and having at least 24 semester hours of technical/occupational credit accepted as transfer credit by GMC is guaranteed admission into one of GMC’s BAS degree programs in Business Management or Supervision and Management.

Also, the two sides said this agreement formally recognizes that North Georgia Technical College and Georgia Military College are committed to the establishment of an educational partnership to better serve currently enrolled and future students at both institutions, as well as, support economic and workforce development in the communities served by these educational institutions.

North Georgia Technical College President Dr. Mark Ivester said the collaboration agreement with Georgia Military College will benefit current and future students by providing opportunities to receive a recognized bachelor’s degree in a field of study that will be a continuation of their program of study at North Georgia Tech.

Meanwhile, Georgia Military College President Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell, IV, said this partnership with North Georgia Tech is a step in providing greater opportunities for he citizens of Georgia.
