NGTC Holds NTHS Induction Ceremony

The National Technical Honor Society at North Georgia Technical College holds its induction ceremony to welcome a new class of members.

At a special ceremony on the Clarkesville campus of North Georgia Technical College, 45 students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society last month.

NTHS is America’s highest award for excellence in career and technical education. The mission of the organization is to honor student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence, and enhance career opportunities. NTHS members will receive recognition in the form of identification on their transcripts, a special seal on their diploma, and white stoles on their graduation robes.

For this honor, students must be nominated by an instructor and must maintain a 3.7 GPA. In all, 17 programs were represented and 26 of the NTHS candidates are currently pursuing an Associate Degree.

Stephens County residents receiving this honor included Kristina Arnold in Business Administrative Technology AAS, Jessica Kennedy in Clinical Laboratory Technology AAS, Tracey Cawthon in Medical Assisting Diploma, Kimberly Andrews in Networking Specialist AAS, and Associate of Science in Nursing (also known as Registered Nursing) students Pamila Besaw and Kimberly Smith.

Addressing the students, North Georgia Technical College President Dr. Gail Thaxton told them the school is pleased to honor the students with the highest quality recognition for their outstanding achievements, adding that they have earned the right to receive this credential, surrounded by successful people.
