NGTC Receives Robot Donation

North Georgia Technical College is the recipient of a donation of a robot for the school’s Industrial Systems Tech Program.

Recently, North Georgia Technical College received a high tech ABB robotic machine donation from TI Automotive in Lavonia.

The machine, an IRB 2400 ABB Robot Model 98, will benefit the Industrial Systems Program at North Georgia Tech, where a robot technician class will be offered beginning in the Fall semester in 2016.
According to North Georgia Technical College Dean for Academic Affairs Dan Pressley, the robotic equipment training provides an additional area of expertise for the Industrial Systems Program students when applying for jobs.
Pressley says that as robotics is increasingly used in the manufacturing process, the school’s students are gaining more opportunities to train on such valuable donated equipment.
He adds that the support that North Georgia Tech receives from local industries allows its students to be well prepared for the workforce and says the school is proud to partner with local industry and appreciate the support they provide.
