NGTC Students Win Awards at SkillsUSA State Championship

Students from North Georgia Technical College received honors at the Georgia SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta.

31 students traveled to the competition with 17 of them winning awards. Three students placed first, accompanied by 11 second place winners and 3 third place winners.

First place winners included Andrew Franklin of Bethlehem, Georgia, in Marine Service Technology; Akayla Campbell of Mineral Bluff, Georgia in Restaurant Services; and Jeremy Gay from Martin, Georgia in Automotive Service Technology.

The students who earned first place awards will be traveling to Saint Louis, Missouri for the National SkillsUSA championships in June with president of the college, Dr. Mark Ivester and other faculty members.
