NGTC To Conduct Emergency Drills

North Georgia Technical College will conduct three emergency preparedness drills this week.

The school said one drill will take place on each campus and will involve faculty and staff along with multiple law enforcement agencies.

The drills also will involve multiple EMS agencies, two local hospitals and the local media.

School officials said that no students will be participating since the college is between semesters.

The drill for the Currahee campus is scheduled at an unspecified time Tuesday, the Clarkesville campus drill is scheduled for Wednesday, and the Blairsville campus drill will be Friday.

Each drill will be closed to the public.

According to school officials, this large scale exercise is designed to help all potential responding agencies in the area prepare for responses in the event of this type of scenario.

North Georgia Technical College said it thanks all the agencies involved for their efforts and advanced planning and time given to make this exercise possible for the community.
