No Major Holiday Incidents Reported in Stephens Co.

Both Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley and Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell said that it was a quiet Christmas holiday weekend for the most part in Stephens County.

Neither reported any major problems over the long weekend.

There was an accident on Tuesday morning that blocked the Toccoa By-pass and affected traffic for a time.

That accident reportedly involved a tractor trailer.

It occurred on the By-pass heading towards Toccoa between the Jeanette Jamieson Intersection and the By-pass’s Intersection with Georgia Highway 106.

While there was reportedly road blockage, initial reports indicated that there were not any serious injuries as a result of the accident.
