No Problems Reported From Weekend Snow

City of Toccoa and Stephens County officials are both reporting that there were no major problems over the weekend due to the winter weather.

Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse and Stephens County Administrator Phyllis Ayers both said that everything ran smoothly from a public works perspective during the snow that fell Friday night into Saturday morning.

Also, Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell said that there were no major issues on the roadways within the city limits as a result of the weather.

Meanwhile, Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said that his deputies responded to reports of several cards sliding off the roadways Friday night into Saturday morning.

However, he said there were no injuries.

The totals for the snow were less than originally forecast for the area heading into the storm as Stephens County received anywhere from a dusting in some parts to up to two inches in others.

That snow was followed by cold temperatures that contributed to continued slick spots in some areas until the temperatures warmed up somewhat.
