One Arrested In Deer Chase Rd. Burglary

One person is facing a burglary charge after allegedly stealing items from a Stephens County residence.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley says that it all started when deputies responded to a Deer Chase Road residence last Thursday, June 12, regarding a burglary that had previously occurred.

Shirley said the deputy who arrived was told that about $3,500 worth of electronics and electronic accessories were taken from the home.

“As the deputy arrived, he began to look at the outside of the residence and noticed a trail that led from the house that had been burglarized to another house next door,” said Shirley. “The deputy through further investigation was able to speak to a young man. As a result of that encounter with the young man, he (the young man) confessed that he broke into the residence.”

Shirley went on to say the deputy was told where all of the items were and recovered all of the items that had allegedly been stolen.

“As a result of Deputy Devan Voyles’ efforts, all the property recovered was given back to the owner,” said Shirley.

The sheriff said 17-year-old Jacob Holbrooks of Deer Chase Road was arrested.

According to Shirley, Holbrooks is charged with burglary in the first degree.
