Overall, things went well at the polls on Tuesday.

That is according to Stephens County Registrar Bill Cochran.

“The poll workers were outstanding,” said Cochran. “I can’t say enough about their dedication to the community. They do a great job. We had a great team and I can’t brag on them enough.”

Overall, 4,193 votes were cast for this election in Stephens County out of 15,895 registered voters, for a turnout of 26.38 percent.

Of those 4,193 votes, 3,861 were cast on the Republican ballot and 284 were cast on the Democratic ballot.

All results are unofficial until they are certified by Cochran and the state on Friday.
