Perdue Farms Recalling Fully Cooked Organic Italian Style Chicken Sausage

Perdue Farms is recalling 2,148 pounds of fully cooked organic Italian style chicken sausage because of some of the packages could contain pieces of plastic.

The sausage is packaged under the PERDUE® HARVESTLAND® brand.

Packages of the Harvestland Italian chicken sausage have a “Best if Used By” date of 6/25/2017.

Company officials say an investigation determined a pair of safety goggles was somehow dropped into the raw meat during processing and before the sausage meat was stuffed.

The Company decided to pull the sausage off store shelves as a precautionary measure.

So far, no injuries have been reported.

Anyone who may have purchased packages of Perdue’s Harvestland brand Italian Chicken Sausage should return it to the store for a refund.
