The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary in Eastanollee earlier this week.

According to a report on file with the Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to a residence on Sweetgum Road on Wednesday.

The report indicated that sometime between 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, more than $10,000 in miscellaneous items were taken.

The report did not indicate specifically what was taken.

Elsewhere, the Sheriff’s Office also responded to an East Silver Shoals Road residence on Wednesday in reference to a theft.

The report stated that $100 in miscellaneous items were taken from the residence, but recovered.

The investigation continues into that incident.

Finally, the Toccoa Police Department said that two people were arrested on drug charges after a recent traffic stop.

The officer reported  stopping a vehicle on Currahee Street in the early morning hours of November 4.

In the report, the officer said that after stopping the vehicle, he arrested Crystal Jan Miller of Dahlonega and Christopher Roy Helton of Cleveland on multiple charges.

Those charges include Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana Less than One Ounce.
