“Project Orange” Picks Toccoa

New industrial development is coming to Stephens County.

The Stephens County Development Authority says that on Tuesday morning, a manufacturer code named “Project Orange” purchased a 24.54-acre tract of land on Clary Connector in the Meadowbrook Industrial Park.

Stephens County Development Authority Executive Director Tim Martin said specifics about the nature of the project cannot yet be released.

However, Martin said that “Project Orange” is constructing a new building that will have 130,000 square feet of manufacturing space and a 15,000 square foot office component.

Martin said “Project Orange” is investing $12 million in Stephens County and plans to employ 25 to 50 people.

Development Authority Chair Brian Akin said this announcement is more great news for the community.

“All of us at the Development Authority are excited to be working with ‘Project Orange’,” said Akin. “There is going to be a lot of new investment and some new jobs coming in to Stephens County, so that is a new boost for our community. The folks at ‘Project Orange’ are a group of smart, talented people and the decision to get behind this project was an easy one for us.”

Martin said that “Project Orange’ expects to be in its new building this Fall.
