Recycling Re-starting on Saturday at Convenience Sites

Recycling re-starts Saturday at convenience sites in Stephens County.

Bins will be back out at the county’s convenience sites for people to drop off their recyclables.

Stephens County officials said the system will be single-stream recycling, which means people will not have to separate their recyclable items.

Officials also said that there will be signs and information to specify what can and cannot be recycled.

Keep Toccoa-Stephens County Beautiful Executive Director Linda Scofield said that the organization is excited to see the return of recycling to Stephens County.

“It has been a long time coming,” said Scofield. “I think this is a good plan to re-start recycling.”

She said because they are expecting large crowds, they are asking for volunteers to help at the convenience sites with recycling.

Scofield said that anyone interested in volunteering can call her at 706-391-0110.

She said anyone willing to help out would be appreciated.

Hours at the convenience sites are as follows on Saturday:

County Farm Road 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
White Pine Road 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
