Report: Jackson Co. Sex Offender Found in Stephens Co.

Reports indicate that a sex offender in Jackson County is behind bars after being located in Stephens County after more than nine months on the run.

According to a report on accessnorthga.com, Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum says that 32-year-old Julius Lafayette Sewell was not living at the Nicholson residence he listed on the sex offender registry.

Accessnorthga.com reported that authorities secured arrest warrants for Sewell in November 2014, and thanks to a tip tracked him down Saturday in Stephens County.

The accessnorthga.com report also said that Sewell also had an outstanding warrant in Jackson County for a probation violation and a hold out of Clarke County.

Sewell is reportedly incarcerated at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
